NeviTREK is a snowshoe manufacturer that started making snowshoes in 2013. We offer sizes to fit most adults and teens. Two types of decking material are used to accommodate recreational snowshoe events as well as frequent snowshoe hikes in more demanding conditions. Our snowshoe bindings adapt to any size snow boot. We pride ourselves on using as many locally supplied and U.S.-made components as possible in our snowshoe assemblies.
Who or what is your motivation each day?
We look forward to making and selling snowshoes every day knowing that it will encourage other people to get outside to enjoy the great winters we have in the Northeast!
What are your goals for your business?
NeviTREK’s goals are to make the best snowshoe possible for an affordable price and to see that anyone who purchases a pair of NeviTREK snowshoes is completely satisfied with the snowshoes as well as the snowshoeing experience.
Describe briefly what makes your business successful?
Success means people passing the word about how much they enjoy using NeviTREK snowshoes resulting in more sales from their recommendations.
What can the Capital Region look forward to seeing in your business in the next 12 months?
We plan to add accessories to go with snowshoes and snowshoe hiking. Hiking/trekking poles were added earlier this year. We are working with a local manufacturer to design a carrying case that can be used as a backpack for snowshoe hikes and/or travel bag. Also, we expect to add t-shirts, hats and other gift items that remind people that snowshoeing is fun!

To continue providing customers with quality products for their projects – Including rough cut lumber, kiln dried lumber, hardwood and softwood flooring, paneling, exterior siding, custom-milled beams, live edge slabs and glue-ups, butcher block counters, reclaimed pine and mushroom wood and stone products.

At age 50, I realized I had a commitment to gynecologic care which would never be fulfilled working for other people. With similarly committed professionals, I started my own medical practice. We are a low volume, private office and independent of corporate control.
Who or what is your motivation each day?
Women need health care. A number of obstacles stand in their way. My staff and I want the best OB-GYN care available for our patients.
What are your goals for your business?
Excellence in women’s care, providing personalized medical diagnosis and treatment; understanding the unique needs of each woman. Dignity and respect for women’s medical needs, education and clarification about medical concerns.

Since that time, I have opened two more practice locations: Adirondack Orthodontics, the Albany location, was added in October of 2014, and our Latham office opened in March of 2017. I added another orthodontist to my practice in December of 2016.

I (We) love what we do and we strive every day to give patients the smile that they have always wanted. I truly love watching the transformation, not just in alignment of the teeth, but the added confidence our patients show.

Hopefully, you will see us even more active in the community than we already are. Dr. Takhalova and I live in the community and raise our children here. We truly strive to be as involved as possible.

The Towne Tavern

Twelve years ago, we renovated what was originally a blacksmith tavern in the 1800s, and then a local restaurant and bar to create the rustic, but beautiful, look of The Towne Tavern. We specialize in slow-smoked juicy barbecue meats, roasting all of our own meats and making everything from salad dressings, barbecue sauces, and even desserts from scratch.
