Get Outside

April 1 - April 30

On March 20, just before press time, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered residents to stay home as much as possible, with the exception of “solitary exercise” outside. Here are a few ways to enjoy the great outdoors around the region.

Located just south of the Adirondack Park line in the town of Johnstown is Peck Hill State Forest, a nearly 3000-acre property spanning miles of wetland. The 1.5-mile Willie Marsh Nature Trail is its main attraction, as its boardwalks traverse marshes and open water, and its accessible viewing platform offers unparalleled views of a section of nature that would otherwise remain unseen by human eyes.
