Boho Chic Boutique
103 Broad Street, Waterford
In 2007, Carrie VanDerhoof moved to the Capital Region for an engineering position. After 17 years, she stepped away from engineering to pursue her dream. With a passion for art and fashion, she opened Boho Chic Boutique, a bohemian inspired store with a warm and up-cycled shabby chic interior.
This is a new venture for both Carrie and her husband, who opened the boutique on April 2 and are proud to be located in Village of Waterford. “We met here 5 years ago and have been happily married since 2013. Our goal is to provide a unique and stress-free shopping experience,” they explain. Boho Chic Boutique currently features 14 local artists who produce goods including soy candles, reclaimed wooden housewares, jewelry, dog biscuits, dog collars, knitted accessories, photography, small furniture, hair accessories and more. The shop also focuses on brands with a humanitarian mission; Sackcloth & Ashes donates a blanket to the local homeless shelter for each blanket purchased and Sudara Punjammies donates proceeds to keep women in India in jobs and out of human trafficking. “We strive to carry USA made items; other products available are homemade soaps, tea towels, greeting cards, t-shirts, wooden housewares from Etsy artisans. It is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience in the heart of Waterford!”
