New in Town

East Greenbush Window Coverings
601 New Loudon Road, Suite 4, Latham

Small business, big passion

East Greenbush Window Coverings was founded in 1987 by owner Lorraine Greaney.  She began working in interior design and home furnishings out of a small in-home studio. After many years, Lorraine expanded and opened a studio in East Greenbush, catering to residential and commercial customers throughout the Capital Region, with an emphasis on window covering.  Fast forward to today, and Lorraine has expanded again, moving her ever-growing business to the busy Route 9 corridor across from Newton Plaza.

Specializing in custom window treatments, EGWC displays premium brands such as Hunter Douglas, Lafayette, Graber and Norman’s, as well as fabrics from Kravet, Lee Jofa, Candace Olsen, Robert Allen, Carole, Fabricut and others. They also carry beautiful hardware to compliment any décor.

Lorraine’s staff includes Diane Sgroi, office manager, who has an extensive knowledge of the interior design industry and Rachel Ciotol, design/showroom assistant, who shares Lorraine’s passion for creativity as she holds degrees in the Fine Arts. Lorraine, Diane, and Rachel are now at the new showroom in Latham under the new brand EGWC: East Greenbush Window Coverings.  The showroom, logo, and new website express a fresh and contemporary gallery feel.

275 River Street, Troy

Started in 2008, Psychedelicatessen brought authentic NY bagels to the town of Idaho Falls, ID. An economy crash turned a brick and mortar dream into something altogether different – a licensed bakery in the basement of a house, and a commercial deli in the most unlikely places – a full-sized hippie bus. After a few years in operation, Laura Kerrone has brought her dream to Troy and is bigger than ever. Situated on beautiful downtown River Street, her new shop brings real-deal NYC bagels to the Capital Region, along with a full menu of freshly-made breakfast and lunch sandwiches, fruit smoothies, coffee and espresso, and much more.

Besides traditional Jewish bagels, another primary focus of Psychedelicatessen is utilizing as much local, organic and non-GMO sources as possible. Customers will be able to identify the local farms and facilities that produce the milk, cheese, meats, produce and other ingredients that are used in cooking with a map hanging on the bagel shop wall. More information on the operations and events, as well as the menu, can be found on the Psychedelicatessen’s Facebook page.
